Exciting debates and lively discussions: The Third Workshop at the International AIED Conferences was again a wonderful event!
We were very pleased and happy to welcome participants from all regions worldwide during our half-day interactive workshop at the 26th International AIED Conference in Palermo, Italy.
The Workshop title expressed our ambitious objectives: “Ethical AI and Education: The need for international regulation to foster human rights, democracy and equity”. And it was the continuation of the two successful workshops at AIED 2023 and AIED 2024 before.
Basis is the ongoing development work of the AI&ED Expert Group appointed by the Council of Europe. Mandated by the 46 member states of the Council of Europe in the year 2023, they are designing two legal instruments: one reocmmendation on AI Literacy and one convention on regulating AI use in education.
The workshop program was attracting many participants from the AIED Conference and its description can be found in details and for download here.
During and after the two sessions, the workshop received extremely positive feedback thanks to the interactive format. That is visible in the workshop results that are also available for download here.
We as the workshop organizers want to share our great gratitude with all participants and colleagues who turned our workshop into such an excellent experience. And as we all are members of the CoE AI&ED Expert Group, we will ensure that all contributions will be heard and considered in the upcoming international regulation on ethical AI and Education.
We are looking forward to continuing our exchanges and debates in the future!
